As sure as Earth’s endless journey around the Sun, Apple has launched its MacBook Air laptops for 2025, filled with its latest silicon, the M4 processor, inside. New 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models gain a useful energy-up struggle in the update, but come with two surprises: they keep the air fan cooling pattern, despite the peppier chip, and the start prices are a cute $ 100 from the previous generation. Who waited for him?
This means that the new MacBook Air 13-inch with M4 starts with only $ 999, the same as the MacBook Air exit, while the 15-inch model with M4 is $ 1,199, against $ 1,299 for last year’s version.
This level should see the M4 MacBook Air laptops perform faster and more efficient than last year’s models, but Apple’s current MacBook Pro laptops are still likely to maintain a performance advantage. These pro -class macbooks have enjoyed M4 processing cooled with fan for months.
Not stopping there, Apple also introduced a Mac Studio Three-Quel with options for a M4 Max processor or a new M3 Ultra Chip brand. These young desktops start with $ 1,999 and $ 3,999, respectively, as before.
I got the opportunity to see the new MacBook Air and Mac Studio laptops briefly before their discovery. Here is all I learned about the latest ultraports of Apple and high-power desktops for 2025, in order to confidently decide if you will predict one of these new Macs before the start of March 12-their principles are live now.
Apple gives MacBook Air a 2025 glow of 2025

New MacBook Air laptops will have 16 GB of unified memory in their input level models, a new initial base due to Apple Intelligence’s needs. By rounding its new-CPU results, Apple has a new Mac Studio desktop containing your choice of an M4 Max processor (first seen in MacBook Pro 2024) or a new M3 Ultra Chip brand. Both options bring the connection of Thunderbolt 5 to the platform, with all six USB-C ports of Ultra Mac Studio that support it.
This new connection standard unlocks up to 120GBPs of the data transfer rate, which enables new accessories for content creation and other high octane computing needs. These include high -capacity access centers, as well as external boxes that can wait for PCIE expansion cards with I/O for specialized video work flows, or for joining portable high speeds.
Otherwise unchanged in terms of his issue and thermal model, the 2025 MAC studio brings everything that M4 Max can already do on a MacBook Pro application with more cooling potential. According to Apple, 16 core M4 max and 40-core CPUs are 3.5 times faster than M1 Max. MAC studio with M4 Max starts with 36 GB of unified memory and can wait up to 128 GB, while M3 Ultra Mac Studio significantly increases that capacity. But first, one question: why are we not getting a M4 Ultra now?
This is due to the way these ultra-series class chips are produced. Apple ultra -level chips are not singular silicone pieces like others, but two of the firm -paired firm processors on a main table using a high -speed interconnection called ultrafusion. This technique allows both chips to act essentially as one, but with double the processing sources at TAP.
In this case, this means a 32 -nucleus CPU (two CPUs with 16 nuclei M3 Max) supported by an 80 core mass GPU (again, two GPUs with 40 core M3 max), the highest Apple count still reached. Creating a monster of a Frankenstein chip like this requires time and additional sources of development, so the ultra line is often “after” a generation.

M3 ultra will lose some of the enlarged M4 line graphic processing techniques, especially tracking Apple’s second -generation rays, but should prove a beast for development work on it and other machinery teaching projects. This is because duplication of processing sources allows for a massive increase in the memory band and capacity. M3 ultra sets 800GBS bandwidth and has the capacity for 512 GB of unified memory, most sometimes filled on a personal computer of this size.

During a demonstration, I have seen a maximum MA M3 Ultra studio using a 600 billion -billion parameters (LLM) model to generate the original Python code for a new function within a 3D modeling application faster than I could write (much less understand), using more than 270GB of memory to do it. Then, the demonstrator moved to a Cyberpunk 2077 session that was operating in the background to show not only real-time GPU interpretation skills, but both tasks were running at the same time.
MAC studio with M3 Ultra is for an even more specific audience than the M4 Max model, namely bleeding he and the machinery learning developers, twice the M4 Max performance in work loads that are optimized to introduce into its main essential counts. With this, Mac Studio based M4 Max is best for content creators and the rare race of dear MAC computer players.
The Takeaway: A new possible performance ceiling, a specified surprise for prices
The most widely exciting story here by Apple is its whole new line of MacBook Air laptops with a new color and new level features and MacBook Pro for $ 100 less than before. This increase in supply could allow Apple to respond to the demand at a lower price without sitting down its limits.
This price drop also allows the newest MacBook Air laptops to better compete with the Sublime wave, under $ 1000 window laptops we’ve seen last year by companies like ASUS and its Zenbook line.
One Note: M3 MacBook Air laptops will not be sold at a lower price, as the M2 MacBook Air laptops have been since the M3 models were lowered. M3 models are interrupted, leaving the M1 MacBook Air, sold through Walmart, as the only alternative to the latest M4 models.
It is not every day for you to see Apple removing a hunk from the price of its latest generation flag laptop, which must satisfy customers and can increase pressure on its PC rivals to continue running prices. Likewise, achieving new performance heights, such as those demonstrated on the desktop side, is sure to shake PC manufacturers, who, without going through a unified memory approach, can only dream of placing 512 GB of RAM in a compact desktop.
