Trump’s purchase deadline approaches: Federal workers describe their opinion

Civil servants have hours left to decide whether to accept a purchase offer that can change their lives. Many do not feel prepared.

“I feel like I have to make a decision when I don’t have all the cards at the table,” said a 17-year-old federal worker, adding that they voted for President Donald Trump, but felt confused about the purchase offer. All federal workers who spoke to BI gave their anonymity and their identity have been verified.

February 6th is the deadline to accept the trump resignation of the Trump administration, which said it would pay federal Workers by September 30 – without the request to work during that time – if they agree to resign.

“The Antideficency Act prohibits such a guarantee,” the complaint states, referring to a law that, in part, prohibits agencies from spending or obliging funds before an acquisition.

A federal worker noted concerns that if the government closed, the workers who received the bid could lose some money.

“What some people may not understand is that the budget is approved only until March,” they said. “The thought is that they will start cans down the road by the end of the fiscal year, but if that doesn’t happen, the people who receive this offer can be a lot of money.”

Another federal worker said that “we are all worried” for payment beyond the date on which the government is funded and that “there is currently no precedent for this kind of offer”.
